10th Virtual Round Table Web Conference and 9th vLanguages Conference

Dear language educators,

Come join us for the Virtual Round Table/ vLanguage web conference on 27-29 April 2018 for three days of talks, workshops, edit-a-thons, hackathons and more.

There are also preconference workshops 24-26 April

This unique web conference is a labour of love by many, many volunteers and it is more virtual than ever. We invite you to immerse yourself into Virtual Reality and virtual worlds.

Check out the program here

Don't miss the opening keynote by Thomas Strasser, author of the book 'Mind the App! Inspiring internet tools and activities to engage your students (Helbling)' and Saturdays opening keynote by tools guru Joe Dale

There are symposiums by the Visual Arts Circle, famous for their Image conference in Barcelona, a Virtual Realty Symposium which is a retake of the LT SIG preconference event in Brighton at IATEFL, a GUINEVERE Symposium for those interested in creating games in a virtual environment, a SineSpace Symposium of a new virtual world that rocks, a Minecraft Symposium and and and...

This year we also want to introduce a couple of new formats because life is forever beta: a new workshop format for people who are willing to 'do-as-I-do'. These pre conference workshops (24-26 April) are not for lurkers and you are encouraged to prepare yourself, perhaps having to buy certain software or other equipment. These workshops are limited in the number of attendance and registration is required. Here is the link to the registration.

Also new this year there are edit-a-thons and hackathons and these session formats are what you can call a 'crowd-sourcing of ideas and know-how'. A group of people share ideas and expertise and work together to develop these ideas. No limited seating as here is the motto: the more the merrier and we hope you contribute freely and share freely.

Please forward this email to three of your friends and colleagues!

Even if you can not attend, all of the sessions are recorded and are published in real-time throughout the conference. There is going to be a live stream on YouTube, stay tuned.

Looking forward to meeting you live online

Heike Philp and our wonderful moderators Božica, Helena, Rob, Scott and Syke.
